We are seeking a creative Head Chef to run our award-winning kitchen which specialises in contemporary, seasonal and local Irish food. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, creative, committed and energetic chef seeking a fresh challenge to put their stamp on an innovative restaurant, located bang in the heart of foodie capital Galway’s Latin Quarter.

Main Tasks:

  • design seasonal menus with a twist centred around local, in-season and wild ingredients.

  • deliver food to an exceptional standard and maintain consistent high standards.

  • further build the restaurant’s reputation and identity for local, seasonal and wild food.

  • further build the restaurant’s reputation among industry peers, influencers, critics and the public.

The ideal Head Chef must:

  • possess a passion for and knowledge of local, seasonal and foraged food and ingredients, and the ability to deliver food to an exceptional standard.

  • recognise superior quality products, presentations and flavours.

  • be driven and focused on first-class standards across every aspect of the operation.

  • have shown loyalty and longevity throughout their career.

  • have excellent knowledge of costing and budgeting.

  • be absolutely trustworthy, responsible, energetic, committed, enthusiastic and a strong communicator.

  • be flexible regarding scheduling including weekends, evenings and holidays.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Have successfully graduated with a professional culinary arts degree.

  • Management of Food Hygiene/HACCP - Level 5.

  • Minimum of 3/4 years working as a Sous Chef in a similar establishment.

  • Proven financial and staff management skills.

  • Highly organised, detail oriented; ability to work quickly and multi-task in busy environment.

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.

Salary: €38,500
